1 Introduction

This document defines the communication protocols of the Anomaly Reporting (AR) standard and was developed by the member organisations of the Digital Data Exchange, LLC (DDEX). Any organisation wishing to implement this (or any other DDEX standard) is required to apply for an Implementation Licence. The terms of the licence and an application form can be found here and here.

The communication protocols defined in this part of the AR standard are to be used for the communication of the messages defined in Part 2 of the AR standard. Part 2 provides a mechanism for companies operating in the digital music value chain to report anomalies they have detected with regards to apparent consumer engagements with a release, resource, work or artist to one or more of its business partners and to respond to that report.

This part of the AR standard defines the mechanism by which messages created in accordance with other parts of the AR standard can be securely exchanged by using web services.
